With support from the National Key R&D Program, domestic metallurgical equipment enterprises have successfully overcome key technological bottlenecks in the production lines for structural steel and strip steel. Recently, their independently developed high-precision rolling equipment has passed international certification, with all performance indicators reaching internationally advanced levels, thereby breaking the monopoly held by European and American companies such as SMS and Danieli in the high-end market. This production line features an intelligent temperature-control and online inspection system, enabling flexible production of products with various specifications and meeting the customized demands for high-end steel in industries such as automotive and machinery.
According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association, since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the R&D intensity in the steel industry has grown at an average annual rate of 15%, giving rise to a number of advanced metallurgical equipment products. The company’s developed hot continuous rolling mill for strip steel utilizes AI-powered visual inspection technology to achieve millimeter-level detection of surface defects, with product thickness tolerances controlled within ±0.02 mm. This technology has already been adopted by three high-end special steel enterprises, helping them increase the proportion of high-value-added products by 31%. Currently, the company’s products are exported to more than 30 countries and regions. In 2025, its overseas revenue is expected to grow by 18.7% year-on-year, making it a leading supplier of metallurgical equipment for the Belt and Road Initiative.
